The zoo pictures

A beautiful crane sitting on her nest.

Oisin not really interested in the bison.

The bison was less interested in us.

The sheep seemed to want to meet us, but they might have just been looking for some food.

This guy was just chilling out in the shade. I thought he was gorgeous.

Our trip to the park

Today we went to Flushing Meadows Park and the Queens Zoo in the park. Oisin was thoroughly unimpressed with the whole event, especially the World's Fair Unishpere.

Babies are not impressed with hangovers

Oisin didn't care that I was dying with a hangover yesterday. It was fine anyway and he let me sleep this morning, which was super nice of him. LOL

Girls night out on Friday was just what I needed. D was up at 7am with Oisin and even though I was exhausted and had a pounding headache, I was all smiles. Things are still not great, but Friday was a huge step in the right direction.

I will post more pics of Squirmy as soon as I pull them off the camera. Having an apartment filled with house guests threw me off and I still haven't fully recovered from that.

Also, I started another blog about losing the last 20 pounds of pregnancy weight. I don't know if anyone cares, but here is the link: http://stoneandahalf.blogspot.com

It has found me

Crushing depression, that is. A cancellation of Friday night plans resulted in half a day of tears. I asked someone else to go out on Friday instead and have spent the time since dreading the rejection I am convinvced is coming. I was so destoyed by the original change in plans I had to turn off the computer. I couldn't look at it. Just the thought of turning it on paralyzed me with pain.

A simple change in plans should not do this to a person. It is not normal. I feel like the depression is physically pushing down on my shoulders, forcing me to sit hunched over.

The low is addictive. I hate it and want to pull away and at the same time it's grip is seductive. When I start to get out of it's grip, I miss it and want it back.

I think it's time to call the doctor.

2 weeks later

Let's review. Here I am the day they induced me, weighing in at 163 pounds.

This is me today, weighing in at about 137. I did just have a huge meal plus dessert. tee hee.

Not too bad, if I do say so myself. I lost about 23 pounds in the first week, most of which I would think came off during labor and after getting rid of all that water weight I was carrying due to all the swelling. Half way there!

What was I worried about?

There was one night when I was about 40.5 weeks pregnant when I decided, stupidly, to take a gander at some of my early pregnancy belly pics. HUGE mistake. I freaked out. I starting thinking I'd be huge forever. Of course, this was before I gave birth to a 8 lb 5 oz baby and had to have 3 gestational sac broken. Steph told me it would be fine. Oh-zys bitch slapped me into reality and I put away the pics.

I have discovered that I didn't need to worry, as I have NO TIME to eat. I'm already down half of the 48 lbs. WOOT. I'll put a belly pic up on Monday, since it will be 2 weeks since the last one.

I know...

I realize that I said I would stop taking pics of him sleeping, but I can't help it. He's actually awake in 2 of them, but I couldn't get one with his eyes open in his litlle white jacket.
